Hi Charlie
You're back!
Though busy with work, I'd skive and join this one but have promised a mate we can replace the EGR valve on his van on Weds so won't be free.
Looks like a perfect mid-week lunch ride.
See you on the next one hope...

Re: Rideout to Devils Bridge via the Elan Valley (200 miles) - Saturday 13th May
Sorry to hear about the Zumo, it could just be a case of needing to download and install/reinstall the Garmin driver. The older Garmins are a bit fickle to load routes onto. That's unless you have a Zumo XT (and, I think the Zumo 595), then you can load them from your phone via Bluetooth using the ...

Hey Charlie
My Zumo is being a pain and the laptop can't see it (think the USB socket on the garmin is duff). Is there an MRA version of the file I can access and use on my phone?
Also, happy to do a bit of Tail End Charlieing - preferably a boring bit!
Looking forward to the ride.
Regards

Happy to help
Just thought I'd let people know that (subject to time being available) I'm always happy to help fellow bikers to diagnose/fix problems, know how to service a bike, design mods etc. I used to be an engineer (control systems) at Ford and was -briefly- a bike mechanic in a London dealer (and a car mec...

Sounds right
Re: Woody
Yeah I love the 650 Triumph. Mine had been cafe racered when I got it but fitted a standard seat and tank. Kept the home made rearsets and linkages and put alloy rims on. Also went for single carb when i blueprinted it - much easier to keep in tune and still went very well with the mods I did (Thrux...

Breakdown cover etc
Just wonder if its worth having a principle that when people turn up for rides they either have breakdown cover or are happy to push their bike home if it breaks down. Personally I'm often happy to help a fellow biker with a breakdown, help them get home or escort a limp home - it makes an adventure...

Hello I'm Duncan. Glad to be here. Only just moved to Stroud (actually Whiteshill, just north of it). I do between 12k and 18k miles a year - commuting, weekend rides, foreign tours (did the TT and Nurburgring last year; similar planned for this one). My bikes are: BMW K1300S HP Motorsport (2016), B...
Re: Woody
Hi Woody Interesting that you started on a '66 Triumph. I still have my '66 Bonneville which I bought in '83 (seemed old then but I've had it for more than 2/3 of it's life). Like you, my first bike (BSA Bantam) came as a box of bits which I rebuilt, aged 16 (that soon gave way to a Triumph Tiger 90...
