Once you're logged into the forum, using your username and password, this is easy to do as follows (sounds more complicated than it really is):
Navigate to the Appropriate Sub Forum:
- Find the sub forum category where you want to create your topic or post.
- Click on the sub forum category to enter it.
- Once inside the desired forum category, locate the "New Topic" button. There's one at the top as well as the bottom of the page. (Note that forums that are locked will display a "Locked" icon instead)
- Click on the "New Topic" button to initiate the process of creating a new topic.
- In the form provided, enter the subject or title of your topic in the "Subject" field.
- Below the subject field, there will be a larger text area where you can compose the content of your post.
- Type in your message or content for the topic. You can format your text using the formatting options provided (e.g., bold, italic, underline) by highlighting the relevant text and clicking one of the buttons.
- You can attach files or images to your post. Use the provided options to attach any necessary files. See here for instructions for adding images, route files, maps, weather forecasts etc.
- If you want to preview your post before publishing it, look for the "Preview" button below the editing window and click on it.
- The preview is displayed with the edit window beneath, you can edit your post and preview again, and again if necessary, until you're satisfied before submitting your post...
- Once you are satisfied with the content of your post, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Look for a button labelled "Submit" and click on it to submit your topic to the forum.
- After submitting your post, you should see a confirmation message indicating that your topic has been successfully posted.
- Your new topic should now be visible to other users browsing the forum within the appropriate category as well as in the "New Posts" listing.
- Once your topic is live, other forum members may start responding to it.
- Depending on your notification settings you will be alerted when another forum member replies to your post.
- Be sure to engage with responses by replying to comments, answering questions, or furthering the discussion.
