Tuesday 29th of April - Starbucks Ashchurch to Classic Motor Hub - 91 miles

Post by Charlie »

Currently 9 riders attending this rideout; 7 from the GRO Meetup group plus carl1 and Dave_Random from this forum.

A weekday ride into the Cotswolds: a circumnavigation of Bredon Hill then Broadway, Fish Hill and Chipping Campden for a coffee. Shipston-on-Stour, Chipping Norton, Burford and Bibury stopping at The Classic Motor Hub for lunch. Then skirting Cirencester and back, via Colesbourne, to the finish at the Westall Green Texaco on Lansdown Road, Cheltenham.

This ride is also on Gloucestershire Rideouts Meetup group.

Start time 10am from Starbucks, Ashchurch, just off jct 9 of the M5 and adjacent to the BP. Get there early, fuelled and ready to leave at 10. Distance is 91 miles so no fuel stops are planned (we start and finish at petrol stations). We should reach the finish in Cheltenham at around 3pm. First stop is at 25 miles and lunch at 67 miles from the start point.

Weather is currently looking good for Tuesday 🌞

There will be an upper limit of 12 bikes to make this event manageable. Please post below if you want to attend, places allocated in the order of responses. If someone can volunteer to be TEC (Tail End Charlie) then please either post here or contact me. A functioning GPS, if you don't know the area well, and a mobile phone (we'll exchange numbers) is all that's required.

GPS routes can be downloaded from the link below (you need to register as a member on here to do so). GPX for Garmin, MRA import and more recent TomToms. No guarantees of accuracy given or implied

Consider joining the GMSR&T MyRouteApp Group for direct access to all of our routes, past and present.

A2 licence machines and above only please. Depending on numbers we’ll be riding using the drop off system or possibly looking after the rider behind depending on numbers.

NB. Please also read the GMSR&T Rideout Ts&Cs, your attendance on this event is conditional on you having read and agreed to these.

No worries, there will be other days. I'm now a ride organiser on the Gloucestershire Rideouts Meetup group and will be organising some more of these rides. More likely to be weekday rather than weekend rides. The other organisers there have the latter pretty well covered.

Great ride today, thanks to the 9 others that joined me today, especially Chris from GRO for being Tail End Charlie. Weather couldn't have been better.
