BOOKING ONTO A RIDE
There will be a set upper limit of the number of bikes to make events manageable, please check the specific ride details.

The ride leader and poster of the specific rideout thread will add a list of attendees to the first post in that thread. Until your username appears on that list you're not confirmed. Please be patient we have jobs, lives, families etc.

Places on the ride will be on a first come first serve basis, post on the thread if you want to attend. If the upper limit is reached but you would still like to attend then please still post stating that you'd like to join the rideout, people do frequently drop out so don't despair if you're off the end of the list in the first post. Check back occasionally, if any riders ahead of you in the queue drop out you'll move up a place. If you're not on the list please don't just turn up at the start point expecting to get on though, that's bad form.

Having added yourself to a ride we completely accept that plans change but please, as soon as they do, contact the ride leader and, at the very least, add a new post on the ride thread (don't edit your original post) stating that you need to cancel. Repeat offenders who don't do this and then fail to arrive at the start point might not get included in future rides. After all you maybe denying someone else the chance of a great day out.

There will be regular breaks and no pressure to make excessive progress but you do need to be confident riding twisty roads that are occasionally narrow. Depending on the number of bikes attending we will be riding using either the ‘look after the rider behind’ or, more likely, ‘the drop off system’ to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable day. Don't worry if these aren't familiar to you, it's easy in practice, an explanation will be provided before we depart from the start point. I recommend newbies start off near the back of the group and observe the process to get an idea of how the Drop off System works.

POINTS OF NOTE
Riders attending any GMSR&T ride-outs need to be registered members of this forum or of the GMSR&T meetup group. You take full responsibility for any non-members you bring as pillions.

Unless otherwise stated your machine needs to be capable of the national speed limit, basically A2 licence category and above. You should also be confident with riding for the time and distance of the proposed route. Speeds will not be ‘ballistic’ but you should be comfortable riding at the legal limit where it’s appropriate. We do occasionally organise rides for smaller machines.

Should the weather forecast look unfavourable a day or two prior to the event it maybe postponed or cancelled. Please check the relevant ride thread and, if you've subscribed to the thread, monitor email for updates in the days immediately beforehand.

DISCLAIMER
Motorcycles are considered to be inherently dangerous and accidents can happen. By participating in a GMSR&T riding event members and guests are taking responsibility for their own safety and any consequences as a result of their actions when riding a motorcycle within the group.

In joining a Gloucestershire Motorcycle Socials, Rides and Tours ride, you are releasing the Club, its organisers and the event organiser from all liability. Your personal safety is determined by your own judgement and experience. The organiser and any assistant organisers take no responsibility and will not be held liable for any injuries, losses of any sort that may occur during these rides.

It is each member’s responsibility to ensure that their motorcycle is road legal and correctly insured.

Whilst the ride leader, TEC and other attendees, will offer what assistance we can in the case of breakdown or minor accident it must be understood that the day has to continue for the group as a whole and we will need to move on once we have ensured that you're not completely stranded. It is highly recommended that you have suitable recovery insurance in place to get you and your bike home. Failing that a mate with a van who's willing to come and collect you or, at the very least, the means to pay a local garage to help.

Ride within your capabilities at all times, don’t feel pressurised into taking unnecessary risks. Respect all other road users.
